“Life and Death is a series of photographs from eastern Ukraine taken in 2022-2024. This is not a separate project or collection, it is my reporting craft, eastern Ukraine has become my home, my inspiration and an integral part of my life. Fear, love, joy and death, very simply, but that's what these photographs depict.
About the Photographer
George Ivanchenko is a Ukrainian photographer who has been working as a freelance reporter in the field of documentary and journalistic photography since February 2022. From the first months of the invasion, he began shooting for the Associated Press and the European Pressphoto Agency like freelancer. Starting from Kyiv Oblast, Borodyansky district, where George was born, he continued his journey along the front line.
